Bobby Ray Kitchens, 85, passed away on Wednesday, September 30 at his residence. Graveside services will be held on Friday, October 2, at 10 a.m., at Andersonville National Cemetery with Mr. Jeff Burchell officiating. The family will greet friends on Thursday, October 1 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Cherry Street. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Bobby’s name to donor’s favorite charity.
Bobby was born in Dry Branch, GA to the late Stewart and Leila Williams Kitchens. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleene Herrington Kitchens and his siblings, Arthur Kitchens, Hardy Lee Kitchens, Raymond Kitchens, James Kitchens, Joe Kitchens, Dell Moye, Louise Poppell, Annie Kee, Mattie Hurst and Virgil Tom Kitchens. Bobby was a veteran having served in the Army and was retired from Labors Union in Dallas, Texas.
Survivors include his half-sister, Linda Kay Nobles of Jeffersonville and several nieces and nephews, and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
