Carole was a delightful southern lady. She and Barbara enjoyed many years of friendship with my sister, Mary Alice. I liked making divinity for her and cheese straws for Bob. Love both of them. Pauline

I would like to convey my sincerest sympathy to the family during this time of great loss.  Ms. Carole was a beautiful woman with the sweetest spirit and prettiest smile and she was loved by so many.  Meeting her in 1994 and getting to work with her at Wesleyan College was such a blessing to me!  She became such a dear, close friend to me and I truly loved her and will miss her!  While working at Wesleyan, I gave her the nickname of "Sweetie" because that's what she was to me. She was a beautiful soul!  There will never be another "Sweetie" quite like her.  She was always so kind, honest, genuine, loving, brave and positive and had such a strong faith in the Lord.  She was never one to complain and even during her illness she always found a way to be positive.  She was a beautiful person inside and out!  I always loved to hear her talk in her southern accent and share about her family.  She truly loved her family and was so proud.  I will miss our visits, our phone calls, hearing her sweet voice and sharing Tokyo Alley lunches together.  She will always hold a special place in my heart!  I will always be thankful that our lives crossed paths in 1994 at Wesleyan College!  Our loss is Heaven's gain and I smile knowing she has been reunited with her precious Bob!  She was truly a special lady "Sweetie" and will be forever missed!

Carole was one of my favorite people.  She was eternally kind and thoughtful.     She called me about a month ago to say how much she missed my Mama.  I am sad for Robbie, Charles, Melissa and Amy but happy to know that she is reunited with Bob and Mama in Heaven.   My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.  

Carole & I shared so many happy times these past 75 plus years.  She was always there for me all those years  - both the happy & sad times.  I don’t recall us ever having a spat or argument.  She was such a joy to spend so many special times with.  She will always have a special place in my heart  & I’’ll always remember her sweet smile & gentle nature!  I know she & Bob are so happy to be together again. My love to her & her wonderful family! 

  

Lynda and I, as well as my sister, Debbie Walker, would like to convey our deepest sympathies to the entire Nichols' family. Carol was my next door neighbor and the children grew up there while I was mostly away at UGA or working out of state. My parents and Bob and Carol were good friends and neighbors and my parents thought the world of both of them. We have enjoyed being next to Carol since moving back into the old home in 2014.  She just loved the renovation we did and enjoyed a couple of visits over for coffee and cake and once for a small party. She will be missed but we are glad she will get to reunite with Bob, my parents and others in Heaven!

I wanted to express our sympathy to the entire family during this time of loss.  I noted with interest the mention of many of my family  names in the obituary (Rhodes, Welch, Dever) and could not help but feel a connection to you all. Blessings

Carole was a lovely lady with a beautiful smile. Her positive attitude always lifted my spirits. Making cheese straws and divinity for her and Bob gave me and Tadg a chance to enjoy a nice visit with them. I had the privilege of teaching Melissa and Amy. Carole will be missed. My condolences to the family.

Carole and Bob were very dear friends of my parents.  They were always fun to be around and loved by all.   They were an amazing couple.  I had the pleasure of taking Mama to visit Carole several times over the year.  Every visit was special.  She was a true "Southern Belle" and one of the sweetest ladies I have known.  She was so proud of her children and shared wonderful stories about them over the years.  Carole was a very brave woman and always had a kind word of encouragement for all.  Her positive attitude, kindness to all and walk with the Lord were inspiring to all of us.  She will never be forgotten!

Carole has been a wonderful friend to both me and my husband for over 30 years.  Our friendship started at Wesleyan College in the late 80’s in the Office of Admissions.  She made coming to work so enjoyable!  Both she and Bob led us to St Joseph Catholic Church where we continued to share many special memories through the Church.  I will miss her regular phone calls, our wonderful lunch dates and the jingle of her charm bracelet.  Carole always had the perfect advice and word of encouragement.  I will greatly miss my dear friend but I know she is so happy to be in heaven with Bob.  

Carole was a beloved colleague when I was at Wesleyan.  Her sparking personality and love for the students knew no bounds.  She adored the students, her family, and her friends.  I will miss this Christian woman in many ways.  



Carole was one of the first people I met when I came to Wesleyan College as a prospective student, and she was one of the reasons I fell in love with Wesleyan. I never walked by her office without walking in and catching up. She would ask about my parents and on occasion my mother would call to find out how I was doing ...she was always so kind, so considerate...her heart was so full. A bright light has become an angel...we love you Carole. Godspeed, dear friend.

Carol was such a source of support and genuine caring for all as she served as my administrative assistant at Wesleyan. She was not only professionally competent in her job, she was the contact person for all prospective students, parents, staff and administrators. In many ways she was the face of Wesleyan to scores of students as they considered their college choice. Most of all, she made everyone feel her love and compassion. She so loved her family. Very proud of each of you and the extended families you’ve created. My fondest memory is her smiling face. She made every day more pleasant by her presence. My condolences to the family. She was so special and will be missed by many. 

I would like to extend my condolences to Carole's family.  I know you will miss her. I hope the many happy memories will help you through your grief.  Carole and I went to St. Joseph's School and Mt de Sales together so we share many wonderful memories.  I first met Carole on Easter Sunday when I was 5 years old (she was still 4) when she and her father came to visit.  Our fathers had gone to school together and were lifelong friends.  May she rest in peace and have eternal happiness!

Carole was a special person to me.  I loved her dearly.  She never failed to call me when she received a card from me.  I shall miss her.  Rest in peace Carole.  I know Bob was waiting for you.

Mrs. Nichols was the perfect picture of grace. She always shared a kind word, and the memory of her sweet smile still warms my heart. I pray your memories sustain you. 

What a bright light Ms Carole did shine. She often visited Riverside Library while I worked there and we always delighted in her visits. Loved talking books with her each time she dropped by. I pray All of Heaven welcomed her and that solace is found in Love and memories shared.

Carol was a very special friend to Mike and me. She and Bob were a wonderful example of married love. We were privileged to teach their children at Mt. de Sales, to share special times and events with them, and to call them friends. After Bob and Mike died, Carol and I shared church time, phone calls, and memories together. I will miss her. Love and prayers to her dear family. Carolyn

Oh, how I loved your Mother. She always greeted me with a hug and a smile and knew just what to say to brighten my day. She has been a longtime friend of our family (Cassidys) and will be missed. My sincerest condolences on the loss of a beautiful, warm and genteel woman. I had the pleasure of working with your Mom when I worked at Wesleyan College in the mid 80’s. She was patient and understanding. I don’t think she ever quite understood me, as I was coming to Macon from Vermont for my first professional job. I have wonderful memories of my time with her. Peace to you all at the difficult time.

Your mother was beautiful in every way! I remember when she would come to visit - I would see her with you at church - with a huge smile on her face.

  We are  so sorry for your loss.  She will be with you in a different way now, but still present, always, and her legacy will live through you all.

Carole has been greatly missed since Harry and I moved.  We have wonderful memories of times shared, bread and dessert sampling sessions and great conversations.  Carole's death leaves a big hole in our hearts.
