

MACON – Charles “Chuck” Joseph Idone, 70, passed away Saturday, February 20, 2010. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at the Church of God of Prophecy. Burial was in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Rev. Clinton Fields and Rev. Linda Jackson officiated. Mr. Idone was born in Huntington Long Island, NY the son of the late Christopher J. Idone and Anne Rose Gilman Idone. He earned Associate’s Degrees in Computers and Computer Software and in Agriculture and was retired from Robins Air Force Base after twenty seven plus years of service and as a program manager for HH – 53 Helicopter. He was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy, the Adult Sunday School Class teacher, owner and operator of Idone Angus Farm, former president of the Jones County Farm Bureau, past president of the Georgia Cattleman’s Association, a member and past president of the Georgia Angus Association. Mr. Idone was a United States Air Force Veteran and was a flight instructor for Robins Aero Club, Lowe Aviation at Macon Airport and Flight School, Griffin, GA.
Mr. Idone is survived by his devoted wife, Dot Idone of Macon; son, Rick (Michelle) Idone of Kathleen; daughters, Michelle (Bryan) Craddock of Macon, Elaine (Scott) Hammock of Macon, Sherrill Steffanini of Macon; 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; brothers, Christopher Idone of New York, Philip Idone of New York, Marc Idone of Pennsylvania, Peter Idone of Washington State; sister, Carol Anne Idone of Switzerland; numerous nieces and nephews.
Snow’s Memorial Chapel Funeral and Cremation Services, Pio Nono Avenue, had charge of arrangements.
