Donnie was born in Byron, Georgia, to the late Jessie Willard Giles and Sara Simmons Giles. He was preceded in death by his beloved dogs, Charlie, Tico, and Fabio.
A true entrepreneur at heart, Donnie built his life on hard work and determination, starting on the family farm as a young man. He later retired from AM Printing after 19 years in sales. Over the years, he also owned several well-known local businesses, including Yesterday’s, Whiskey River, Lucy Cooper’s, Rockabilly’s, SouthBeach, and Yesterday’s Antique Market.
Outside of work, Donnie found joy in the simple things, especially woodworking, gardening and spending time in his beautifully landscaped yard. More than anything, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who loved his family deeply.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Dianne Cain Giles; his children, Lisa Giles Marshall and Brandon (Stephanie) Giles; his cherished grandchildren, Giles, Matthew, Samuel, Brooklyn, Giselle, Aubrey, Samantha, and Gianna; his brother, Larry (Gwen) Giles; his nephews, Mark (Jeanne) Giles and Mike (Tammy) Giles; and his dogs, Sadie and Susie.
Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Bass Road, has charge of arrangements.
A life well lived, a man well loved, and a legacy that will carry on.
