

Doris White Thigpen, 90, passed away Wednesday, November 19, 2014. Funeral services and a celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue with burial at 2 p.m. at Cedar Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. John Whitehead officiating. Visitation will be from 6 – 8 p.m., Friday at the McAnn residence.
Mrs. Thigpen, wife of the late Harold Allen Thigpen, was the daughter of the Late Marvin “Dock” White and Ida Pearl Parrish White of Cedar Grove. She was a member of Hillcrest United Methodist Church. Mrs. Thigpen was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who was devoted to her family, her friends and her church.
Survivors include her daughter Cheryl (Jimmy) McAnn; three grandchildren Kim Childs, Kelly (Lou) Munoz and Kasey (Jason) Lux; five great grandchildren, Mayson, Ande, Joseph, Nora and Mac; sisters, Nell Davidson, Maudell Browning and Gayle Purvis; brother, Wayne White; sisters-in-law Emily Freeman and Joyce Thigpen and a host of other family and friends.
