Dorothy M. Chapman

Lizella, GA – Dorothy Hartley Chapman, 88, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, November 19, 2011. Funeral services and a celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Fellowship Evangelistic Church. Burial will be in Fellowship Evangelistic Church Cemetery with Rev. Ricky Tidwell, Rev. Bobby Hamlin and Rev. Russ Bozeman officiating. The family will greet friends on Monday, November 21, 2011 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Ave. Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to Fellowship Evangelistic Church, 4967 Sandy Point Road, Roberta, GA.

Mrs. Chapman was born in Taylor, County to the late Herman Hartley and Lena Becham Hartley. She was preceded in death by her children, Ronald Gary Chapman, Donna Gail Chapman, Donald Chapman, a brother, Bobby Hartley and a sister, Margaret Gibbs. She was a homemaker and dedicated her life to Fellowship Evangelistic Church and a former Sunday School teacher. Mrs. Chapman was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister.

She is survived by her loving husband of seventy years, Rev. Frank C. Chapman of Lizella, children, Sandra (Gene) Vaughn of Lizella, Franklin Chapman of Lizella, grandchildren, Revonda (Ronnie) Savage of Maysville, Mitzi (Kenyon) Atkinson of Commerce, Craig Chapman of Maysville, Scott Chapman of Commerce, Kim (Larry) Brewer of Lizella, Rodney Joyner of Fort Valley, great grandchildren, Christopher Richey, Kirsten Joyner, Brooke Savage, Blake McCook, Caroline Chapman, Anabelle Chapman, brothers, Leroy (Alice) Hartley, Billy (Mickie) Hartley, and special nieces, Diane Grayson and Debbie Collins.
