

Emily Roell Brown, 98, passed away on Saturday, December 20, 2025 surrounded by her family. A Requiem Mass will be held Monday, December 29, 2025, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with Father Robert Phillips officiating. A Rosary will be said on Sunday, December 28, 2025 at 5 p.m. at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, 1419 Bass Road, Macon, Georgia.
Emily was born in Dublin, Georgia to the late Walter Levi and Annie Mae Lavender Golden. She was preceded in death by the father of her children, Joseph William Roell Jr. and her siblings Prentice Golden, Eugene Golden, Clayton Golden, Bill Golden and Marjorie Giddens.
Emily was a homemaker and a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Emily witnessed many changes over the years embracing them all with youth and vigor. She was a devoted friend and enjoyed entertaining with her culinary skills, intelligence and quick wit.
She is survived by her children: Gail Roell Union, Rhonda Roell Taylor and Joseph William Roell III. Her grandchildren: Joseph M. Union Jr. (Joyce), Melanie A. Union (Brian), Veronica M. Picard (Brian) and Caitlin Floyd (Dylan). Her great grandchildren: Joseph M. Union III., John D. Union, Anastasiah K. Lesonsky, Tinsley K. Floyd, William T. Floyd, Aaron J. Picard (Ally), Lauren E. Picard, John M. Picard, Ian J. Picard, and Mary A. Picard.
