

Esther Bridger Rogers, 68, passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at a local hospital. Graveside services and a celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens with the Rev. John Beck officiating. The family will meet friends from 5 – 7 p.m., Thursday at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono. They suggest that those who wish make memorial contributions to Methodist Home for Children and Youth, 304 Pierce Avenue, Macon 31204.
Mrs. Rogers, daughter of the late John A. and Mary Lou Meadows Bridger, was a lifelong resident of Middle Georgia. She was a graduate of McEvoy High School and Mercer University, earning her Specialist in Education Degree at Georgia College. Mrs. Rogers taught at Elberta Elementary, Russell Elementary and served as Instructional Coordinator at Parkwood Elementary, Warner Robins. She retired in 2000 with thirty years of service with Houston County Board of Education. She was a member of Powersville United Methodist Church. Mrs. Rogers was the sister of the late John Bridger and Thomas Bridger. All who knew her, knew her as kind, gentle and soft spoken with a caring and sincere heart.
Those left to cherish her memory are her beloved family, her husband, Charles F. Rogers; her sister, Mabel Bridger West (Allen); sister-in-laws, Kathy Bridger and Vicki Bridger, her nieces, Emily Harrington and Elizabeth Giddens (Jason) of Pooler; two great nieces, Claire Giddens and Caroline Giddens and extended family and friends.
