Gary Lee Myers

Gary Lee Myers, 63, passed away Thursday, January 9, 2014 at his residence. Funeral services and a celebration of his life will be held at 3 p.m., Monday at Mikado Baptist Church with burial in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Rusty Smith will officiate. The family will meet friends from 3 – 5 p.m., Sunday at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue.

Mr. Myers, son of the late Earl Eugene and Grace Irene Black Myers, was born in Mechanicsburg, PA. He had lived in this area most of his life graduating from Warner Robins High School. He began flying at the age of fifteen and earned flying certifications from jets, to seaplanes, to helicopters. Never losing his love of flying, he was owner of Myers Flying Service and started the Flight Division of Charter Medical Corporation and served as Chief Pilot for the company. Mr. Myers was a member of Mikado Baptist Church where he was a dedicated member of the choir.

Survivors include the family he adored, his wife, Betty R. Myers of Macon; his son, Shawn Lee Myers of Savannah; his daughter, Shannon Leigh Myers of Macon; granddaughter, Brooke Myers; grandsons, Peyton and Ethan Wilson; and sister, Bonnie Evans.
