

Roy Gavin Ryals, 65, a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed from this life on Thursday, January 2, 2014. A celebration of his life will be held at graveside on Sunday, January 5th at 2:00 P.M. in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Reverend Grady Mimbs and the Reverend Mike Lewis officiating. The family will meet friends from 6 – 8 p.m., Saturday at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono.
Gavin, son of the late Leroy and Retha Lou Ryals, was born in Alamo. He served his country proudly in the United States Air Force and following his military duty, began a long career with the United States Postal Service until his retirement. Gavin currently attended Ingleside Baptist Church and was a member of Parkway Baptist Church. He thoroughly enjoyed visiting the ATV Park, bass fishing, hunting and his tractor collection. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends and playing with his granddaughters. Gavin’s love for his family and his zest for life were amazing to behold and impacted all those who knew him.
Gavin is survived by his loving wife, Patsy; two children, Matthew (Amy) Ryals and Marybeth (Shane) Lawson; his granddaughters, Riley and Reese Lawson; sisters: Shelia (Buddy) Owens and Karen (James) Lawson, and many nieces and nephews.
