

MACON – Isabelle Watkins Malone, 93, passed away Friday, December 23, 2011 at a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday at Riverside United Methodist Church with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Main Gate. The Rev. Steve Waldorf will officiate. The family will meet friends from 5 – 7 p.m., Tuesday at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Cherry Street.
Mrs. Malone, wife of the late Robert Hardin Malone, Jr., was the last surviving child of former Macon Police Chief, Benjamin T. Watkins and Ethel Brown Watkins. She was a graduate of Tift College and earned her Master’s Degree in Education from Mercer University. Mrs. Malone taught in the Bibb County Board of Education System for more than thirty years, teaching at Tinsley, Stratford and Walter Jones Elementary schools. She was the oldest Charter Member of Riverside United Methodist Church where she was also a member of the Beatty – Gray Sunday School Class and had served as Church Historian. Mrs. Malone was a member of the American Clan Gregor Society and the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Survivors include her children, Robert H. (Debbie) Malone, III of Macon, Thomas B. (Nita) Malone of Stone Mountain, Frank H. (Dawn) Malone of Clermont, FL and Catherine (Bob) Kirkpatrick of Cleveland, TN; thirteen grandchildren, Melissa (Chris) Constable, Robin (Robert) Hutchinson, Robert H. Malone, IV, Mandy (Doug) Benson, Crystal (Tom) Sparks, Laurie (Joey) Parkerson, Jennifer Malone, Ellen (Ryan) Easter, Zachary (Mashae) Malone, Jonathan Malone, Kelly (Toby) Zachman, Christopher (Joanna) Kirkpatrick, and Katie Kirkpatrick; twenty-three great-grandchildren, Cassie Constable, Connor Constable, Colby Constable, Skylar Hutchinson, Sydney Hutchinson, Sophia Hutchinson, Nicholas Benson, Lauren Benson, Robby Benson, Billy Sparks, Russell Sparks, Christy Sparks, Dalton Parkerson, Abby Parkerson, Casey Easter, Matthew Easter, Ethan Easter, Dany Malone, T. J. Zachman, Brittany Zachman, Jordan Zachman, Kylie Zachman, James Kirkpatrick; and several nieces and nephews.
