James “Dickie” Lee Carroll, 81, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2022. A graveside service will be held at 2:00PM on Thursday, September 15, 2022, at Glenn Haven Memorial Gardens, Mausoleum Chapel, 7070 Houston Road, Macon, GA 31216. Visitation will be held one hour before the service at the cemetery.
Mr. Carroll was born in Moultrie, GA to the late Oklen James Carroll and Wanna Lee Webb Carroll. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother. He dedicated twenty-one years of his life to the United States Navy, overseeing Aviation Ordnance. He was an avid Braves fan and loved watching old Westerns, listening to Conway Twitty, and spending time with his family. Mr. Carroll was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-three years, Barbara Faye Smith Carroll, and son-in-law, Gary Mullis.
Survivors include children, Janet Mullis, Clifford Carroll, and Donna Plank (Travas); grandchildren, Melissa Rooney (Adam), Jessica Bernard (Bubba), Eric Carroll (Laura), Denice McMahan (Branden) and Nicki Plank; several great-grandchildren; sisters, Kay Prosser and Vickie Sellers (Leon); brother, Wayne Carroll (Bonnie); several nieces and nephews.
