

James W. Hogan, Jr., 65, passed away Saturday, August 19, 2017. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday in the Irwinville Cemetery in Irwinville, Georgia. LaRue Stanfill will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 PM Monday, August 21, 2017 at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Cherry Street. The family would like to thank a special friend, Denise Wyatt, for her friendship and support.
Mr. Hogan was born in Fitzgerald, Georgia the son of the late Leether Peacock Hogan and James W. Hogan, Sr. He retired after 12 years as the Chief Deputy of the Civil Court of Bibb County Sheriff’s Department and also served 26 years as a detective for the Macon Police Department. Mr. Hogan was of the Christian Faith and was an avid movie buff, and loved scuba diving.
Mr. Hogan is survived by his wife of 46 years, Judith Barnes Hogan of Macon; son, Jason Hogan of Macon; grandchildren, Jaimee, Jenna, and Jordan Hogan; great-grandchild, Ace Gillis; siblings, Janice Hogan Potts (Mark); several nieces and nephews; aunts, Virginia Hogan, Mavis Griffith, and Brenda Peacock.
