Jeffrey Roy Myhand, “Jeff,” 77, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2022. A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00 PM Thursday, July 28, 2022 at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Bass Road with a reception/visitation following. Rev. Joe McDaniel will officiate. Burial will be private for family only in Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville, Indiana. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made to MeOver PD, 4972 Hubner Circle, Sarasota, FL 34241. MeOver PD is an organization devoted to enhancing the life of Parkinson’s patients. An additional Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Friday, July 29, 2022 at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Jeff was born in Lima, Ohio and was the son of the late Dee Hurst Myhand and David Crawford Myhand. He earned a BS degree from the University of Louisville and an MBA from Georgia College. He retired from Brown and Williamson as Senior Vice-President of operations after 34 years. He moved to Macon as part of the original Macon startup team in 1975. He was extremely proud of the impact Brown and Williamson had on the Macon community. He was a United States Army veteran, and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Jeff was past president of the Sertoma Club and served on the Red Cross board.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Rita McMahan Myhand, high school sweetheart and loving wife of 56 years; His daughter, Monica Myhand Gleaton (Rusty); son, Shayne Myhand (Amy); and 6 grandchildren, McKenzie, Morgan, and Gray Gleaton and Hazel, Cole, and Grant Myhand.
Jeff was passionate about his family and enjoyed traveling. His favorite trips were visiting Africa and the many family vacations enjoyed at Amelia Island. He was a huge sports fan and an avid golfer. He loved cheering on his beloved Kentucky Wildcats, the Braves, Falcons, and watching college football.
He was a great husband, father, grandpa/caca and friend! We will miss him dearly!
