

Jim Pollock, 80, passed away on Monday, July 18, 2016. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Thursday, July 21 at 11 a.m. with Father Scott Winchel and Deacon Dave Hayden officiating. The family will greet friends on Wednesday, July 20 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Cherry Street.
Jim was born in Belfont, Pennsylvania to the late James Archer and Martaye Bowser Pollock. He was preceded in death by his son, James Archer Pollock, II. Jim grew up in Baytown and Lubbock, Texas and was a graduate of Texas Tech, where he played football. He also was owner and trainer at Del Sol Stables in Texas. Jim was former owner of Pollock Signs & Specialties, Inc. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and choir; and also on the board of Family Advancement Ministry. Jim was past president of Riverside Optimist Club, Life Member of Optimist International.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Gail Pollock; children, Monte Pollock of Birmingham, AL, Tommy (Beth) Pollock of Macon and Christi (Jim) Thrash of Waleska, GA; grandchildren, Alex, Justin, Emily, Abby; sisters, Mary Pollock of E. Lansing, Michigan and Marjorie (Ed) Bridges of Palo Alto, California.
