

MACON – Jimmie Lee Farrell, SGM (RET), 79, passed away on Sunday, November 7, 2010 at a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Cherry Street with graveside services and military honors at 3 p.m. in Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Milledgeville. The family will meet friends from 12:30 p.m. to service time on Friday at the funeral home. They suggest that memorial contributions be made to United Service Organization (USO).
SGM Farrell, son of the late John James Farrell and Dovie Ann Cox Farrell, was born in Dyersburg, TN the youngest of seven children. He was a graduate of Campbell College in North Carolina, served with the U. S. Army for twenty-nine years retiring as the Sergeant Major of the Ranger Department and taught in the ROTC Program at Central High School for ten years. SGM Farrell was a member of Northside Christian Church and the Special Forces Decade Association. He was the father of the late Jimmie Lee Farrell, Jr.
Survivors include his wife Anne Singletary Farrell of Macon; his children, John Theo Farrell (Cynthia) of Thomaston, LyAnne Farrell Crouse of Macon, SFC Brian Keith Farrell (Sonya) of Clarkesville; his grandchildren, Corey McChargue, Chris McChargue, Devon Crouse, Ross Crouse, Brian Keith Farrell, Jr., Carissa Deese, Melissa Deese and Karmin Mazzocchi.
