

MACON – Joseph Randle McDonald, 83, passed away Thursday night at a local hospital. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Marty Watson officiating. The family will meet friends from 5 – 7 p.m., Sunday at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue.
Mr. McDonald was preceded in death by his wife, Lola Elizabeth Carr McDonald and was the son of the late John Edgar and Annie Mae Turner McDonald. Born in Leary, GA, he served with the U. S. Army Air Corps during World War II. Mr. McDonald had lived in Macon most of his life and was an aircraft electrician maintenance foreman retired from Robins Air Force Base. He loved animals and the outdoors and was an avid hunter, fisherman and gardener.
Survivors include his daughters, Debra McDonald, Renee Hartley and Pam (Darren) Forbes, all of Macon; his brother, Albert McDonald of Gay; his sister, Helen Hood of Milledgeville; his beloved grandchildren, Kyle Forbes, Ashley Forbes and Lindsay Hartley; several nieces and nephews including Bray Carr, Melinda Johnson, Michael Johnson and Johnnie Ruth Darden; his faithful companions, his dogs Heidi, John and Max.
