

Nita Dixon Garner, 76, passed away suddenly on Sunday, May 18, 2014. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 21 at 1 p.m. at Ingleside Baptist Church Chapel with Dr. Tim McCoy and Dr. Mark Hudgins officiating. The family requests that the Kate Davis Sunday School Class sit together at the service. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery (North Gate).
Nita was born on March 15, 1938 in Valdosta, Georgia and was a longtime resident of Macon. A devoted mother, wife and friend, she took great pride and joy in opening her home and garden to many friends and family. She was a member of Ingleside Baptist Church and the Kate Davis Sunday School Class.
Nita loved participating in all of her children’s activities including Rosa Taylor PTA, serving as a home room mother, girl scout leader, high school activities at Stratford Academy and college activities including many Georgia Tech football games.
Nita was devoted to the care of her husband during his long illness and kidney dialysis treatment. She was predeceased by her husband, Jack Garner and her parents, Tracy and Laverne Dixon (Savannah). She is survived by daughters, Tracy Garner (Smyrna, GA), Karen Agnew (North Port, FL); and son, Kirby Garner (Acworth, GA), brother, Tracy Dixon (Bainbridge, GA), and sisters, Susan Touset (Marietta, GA) and Judy Litchfield (Acworth, GA). She is also survived by two Pomeranian puppies, one cat and two grandcats.
