Kelly Allen Solomon passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 30, 2025, surrounded by her family. Born January 7, 1960, in Macon, Georgia. Kelly was the daughter of Marilyn May Allen and the late R. Clyde Allen.
Kelly grew up in Atlanta, attended Peachtree High School, and went on to the University of Georgia, where she was a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority. It was at UGA that she met the love of her life, Stephen “Steve” Malone Solomon V, and they went on to build a full life together. She devoted herself to her community and to raising her children by staying closely connected as they grew and had families of their own.
Kelly loved celebrations and had a gift for making holidays and even ordinary days feel special through her famous recipes and the small things she did year after year. Her signature window boxes, colorful flowerbeds, and pots were always overflowing with happiness. Kelly’s greatest joy was her family, and her true purpose was making sure the people around her knew they were loved.
She taught her family how to carry on traditions that she held dear by creating lasting memories for both her children and grandchildren who loved to spend time with their “Keddy”.
For decades, she was deeply rooted in the Stratford Academy family: as a parent, a substitute teacher, and working in the main and preschool front offices. She also served as the Head Cheerleading Coach for many years, championing longstanding traditions and encouraging girls to strive for their personal best in all disciplines. Whether on the sidelines or behind the scenes, Kelly always stepped in with a smile wherever she was needed.
She held a deep and unwavering faith and served actively through Christ Church on the Vestry, Altar Guild, Sunday school, Vacation Bible School, the Christmas Pageant, and founded The Good Grief committee to support families experiencing loss. In the community, she was active in The Junior League and as an officer of the Pines and Peaches Garden Club.
Kelly was preceded in death by her father, R. Clyde Allen and survived by her mother, Marilyn Allen of Macon, and her brother Gene Allen (Stacey) and daughter Harper of Cumming, GA. She is survived by her husband, Stephen Malone Solomon V; her daughter, Elizabeth Solomon Schorr (Robert “Bobby”) and children Robert Edward Schorr III, Marilyn Louise Schorr, and Buckingham “Buck” Dempsey Schorr; her son, Peter Malone Solomon (Sydney) and daughter Annie Wynn Solomon and a son due in February 2026; and her daughter, Mary English Solomon Masters (Jacob “Jake”) and daughter Elizabeth “Lizzie” English Masters, all of Macon. She loved and was loved by a host of cousins, in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
