

Larry Cecil King, 73, passed away at his residence on Wednesday, September 20, 2017. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 23 at 1 p.m. at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Cherry Street with Pastor Bry Greene officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery. The family will greet friends on one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Healing Towers, 2417 Tongass Ave, Suite 111-355, Ketchikan, AK 99901.
Larry was born in Macon to the late James Rex King and Annie Laurie Cole King. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Linda Darlene King. Larry was a 1962 graduate of Lanier High School and received his B.A. in History from Columbus University in Columbus, GA. He served in the U. S. Army for 20 years, retiring with the rank of Major. Upon retirement from the service, he worked for Bibb County Board of Education as Director of Purchasing. Larry was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved traveling and home remodeling. He was a good Christian man. Larry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Tonya Davis King; children, Stacy Wynn (Todd) of Stockbridge, Bry Greene (Angie) of Saginaw, MI, and James Rex King II (Jessica) of Ocean Springs, MS; grandchildren, Elijah Wynn, Gabby Wynn, James Rex King III, Maggie King, Bailey Smith and Cameron Smith; siblings, James C. King, Russell King, Don King and Connie Styons; and several nieces and nephews.
