

Lois (Barbee) Kersey, 65, passed away Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at a local hospital. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens with Pastor Butch Mullis officiating. The family will meet friends from 6 – 8 p.m., Friday at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue. They may be contacted at the residence of Bonnie (Barbee) Toole, Lizella.
Mrs. Kersey, wife of the late Vernon Kersey, was born in Dexter the daughter of the late Charlie Carlton and Mertie Ree (Fountain) Barbee. Living in Macon most of her life, she was retired from Keebler Bakery after thirty years’ service. Mrs. Kersey was of the Baptist faith. She was the sister of the late Rabon Barbee.
Survivors include her sister, Lorie Barbee of Knoxville; her brother, Marvin Earl Barbee of Macon; her sister-in-law, Vickie (Smith) Barbee of Jackson; her nephew, Tony Barbee of Macon; her nieces, Diane (Barbee) Ridgeway of Jackson and Bonnie (Barbee) Toole of Lizella and several great nieces and great nephews.
