Lola G Whittemore

MACON – Lola G. Whittemore, 76, passed away Friday, December 2, 2011 at a local hospital. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Sean Beck officiating. Flowers are accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association Central Georgia Chapter, 886 Mulberry Street, Macon, GA 31201. The family will meet friends from 10:30 a.m. to service time on Tuesday at the graveside. They may be contacted at the residence of Alan and Rosy Whittemore.

Mrs. Whittemore, wife of the late Milton John Whittemore, was born in Moultrie the daughter of the late Oras G. and Effie Tillman Goings. She was preceded in death by five brothers. Mrs. Whittemore retired from First Union Bank after forty-five years service. She was of the Baptist faith and an avid cook.

She is survived by her family, her son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Rosy Whittemore of Macon; granddaughter, Rebecca Pfeiffer of Macon; three sisters-in-law; devoted niece, Cindy Gunter; a number of nieces and nephews; and faithful companion, Muffy.
