Mary Rocco

Mary Rocco, 84, passed away surrounded by her loved ones on Tuesday, March 29, 2016. A Memorial Service will be held at Riverside United Methodist Church on Friday, April 1 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Chip Strickland officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Ohio at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Friends of the Library, 2720 Riverside Drive, 31204 or the American Heart Association, 5962 Zebulon Road, PMB 359, 31210.

Mary was born in Thurman, OH to the late Frank Austin and Marie Jones Redmond. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Dustin Redmond and Gomer Redmond. Mary was a homemaker and a member of Riverside United Methodist Church. She was an avid reader, loved gardening, music and was a pianist. Mary had an active interest in her friends and loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 61 years, Carl Jr.; children, Sarah (John) Rocco Ross and Carl (Lisa) Rocco; and grandchildren, Catie and Matthew Rocco.
