

MACON – Mavaneene L. Perry Bennett, 84, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at Pine Pointe Hospice. Funeral services and a celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m., Monday at Calvary Baptist Church, Upper River Road with burial at 3 p.m., Rentz Cemetery. The Rev. Danny Mundy will officiate. The family will meet friends from 3 – 5 p.m., Sunday at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue. They suggest that those who wish make memorial contributions to Pine Pointe Hospice, 6261 Peake Road, Macon 31210.
Mrs. Bennett, daughter of the late John Andrew Lowery and Annie Burch Lowery, was born in Rentz and had lived in Macon most of her life. She cared for children in her home for more than forty years and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was a former member of Immanuel Baptist Church where she taught the Faith Sunday School Class and was a member of the choir. Mrs. Bennett was preceded in death by her ten brothers and sisters.
A devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she will be missed by the family she adored, her children, Russell W. (Norma) Perry of Savannah, Glenda R. (Mike) Fulbright of Macon, Lori Jean Robinson of Macon, Marjie Kay (Charles) McElveen of Macon, Rodney Dale (Vivian) Bennett of Macon and Mary Elizabeth (Larry) Slaton of Newbern, NC; fourteen grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family deeply appreciates the gentle, loving and professional care given to Mrs. Bennett during this time by the staff of Pine Pointe Hospice.
