

MACON – Mildred Paul Hartley passed away on October 27, 2011, the day after her 93rd birthday.
Services will be held Saturday, October 29th at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Snow’s Memorial Chapel, 746 Cherry Street, Macon with Rev. Julie Long and Rev. Jody Long officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 P.M. prior to the service on Saturday. Burial will be private in Riverside Cemetery.
A lifelong resident of Bibb County, Mrs. Hartley was the daughter of the late Cleveland and Mary Glover Paul. She was preceded in death by her sister, Helen Paul Briggs; brother, George Cleveland Paul; and husbands, Milton Edward Bateman, Jacob Foreman Heard, Jr. and Forrest Andrew Hartley, Jr.
Mrs. Hartley attended Bibb County Public Schools and was retired from Middle Georgia Regional Library after forty-two years of service.
She was an active, devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Christ in Macon for over seventy years. At First Baptist, she was a charter member of the Winsome Women Sunday School Class, now The Believers Class, and was active in the Keenagers.
She was a member of the Pilot Club of Macon for over twenty-five years and was a member of the Macon Exchangettes.
Survivors: Mary Ann Bateman Spell of Macon; sister, Mary Paul Farriba of High Shoals, GA, formerly of Macon; grandson, Gerard Earl Spell of Macon; nephew, Mark Earl Farriba (Ellie); niece, Claire Farriba Nicholson (Dow) and their families, all of Watkinsville; and stepson, Forrest Andrew Hartley, III (Barbara) of Stockbridge, Georgia.
