Noel Felton Patterson Jr.

Noel Felton Patterson, Jr., 89, passed away Monday, September 09, 2013. Memorial services will be held private for family only in Riverside Cemetery, North Gate Section. The Rev. Joseph Shippen will officiate. The family will greet friends from 10:00 am until 11:00 am Saturday at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Cherry Street. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the donor’s favorite charity.

Mr. Patterson was born in Macon, graduated from Lanier High School, and was the son of the late Irene Kitchens Patterson and Noel Felton Patterson, Sr. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. After the war he served an additional five years in the United States Navy Reserve. Mr. Patterson became a licensed optician and worked with Billy Oldham and his family at Oldham’s Opticians for over 30 years. He was the widower of Ann Darden Patterson.

Over the years he was a member of numerous civic and social organizations, but particularly enjoyed the fellowship of the men of the Dixie Senior Golf Association. Mr. Patterson was a member of St. James Episcopal Church.

Mr. Patterson is survived by his son, Mark (Lisa) Patterson of Macon; grandchildren, Christen (Brian) McCommon of Atlanta and Kendall Patterson of Macon.
