
MACON – Ora L. Hinson Cannon, 90, died Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Cherry Street with burial in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Pastor Eric Byrd will officiate. The family will meet friends from 1 p.m. to service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Cannon was born on February 19, 1921 in Laurens County and was the last surviving daughter of seven brothers and sisters born to the late William P. Hinson and Dicey Miller Hinson. She had lived in Macon since 1938 working at Naval Ordnance during World War II and was retired from Robins Air Force Base. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Willie Hoke Tuten, William T. “Bill” Taylor and Garland G. Cannon, by her daughter Jacqueline “Jackie” Taylor Walker, by her son, William P. “Billy” Tuten, by a granddaughter, Elaine Lumley Pope and by a special friend and companion, Charles Donaldson.
Mrs. Cannon is survived by two daughters, Mary Ann Garrison of Gainesville and Deborah Cannon Molton (Earl) of Clarksville, AR; her son, Darrell (Pamela) Cannon of Clarksville, AR; ten grandchildren, Michael Lumley, Mikey Simmons, Angie Simmons, Darrell Cannon, Jr., Cherr Cannon, Jeffery Cannon, Bill Walker, Lindsey Walker, Brandon Webb and Bryan Webb; a number of great grandchildren including Corey Pope; and three great-great grandchildren including Macie Pope; special nephews and their families, M. L. Clark and Tommy Joe Hinson; nephews, Jack Hinson and Danny Hinson; two special nieces, Nell Hinson and Dell Hinson; great nephew and his family, Jay Hinson; special friends, Katherine and Gene Wells and her son-in-law, Jerome Walker.
