Patricia Ann Smith was born on February 28, 1943 and died on November 12, 2021. She is survived by her husband, Samuel M. Smith of fifty-seven years; sons, Michael K. Smith and Chad E. (Yvonne) Smith; grandson, David C. Smith; granddaughter, Emily Catherine Smith; sister, Veronica Kent (James) Cowart; special friends, Donna Smith and Betty Jean Kirkland along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents, Tommie Lee Covington Kent and Neely Kent and a brother, Ray Neely Kent.
She was a graduate of Jenkins County High School in Millen, Georgia where she was a Beta Club member, an honor graduate, member of the Jenkins County Band and 4-H club. She received her undergraduate degree from Tift College and was a member of the Tift College Choir. She received her Masters in Education from Georgia College in Milledgeville. She was a teacher at Gray Elementary and Callif Middle School. She was totally committed to and enthusiastic about her work as an educator for thirty years.
Patricia was a member of Haddock Baptist Church. She loved her family dearly and found pleasure in studying her family genealogy records. She was a past member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and Beta Nu Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa, and various other educational organizations. Patricia was an avid reader and talented seamstress, who loved making quilts.
A Celebration of Her Life will be held on Monday, November 15, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at Haddock Baptist Church. The family will greet friends from 2:00 p.m. until service time at the church. Burial will be in Haddock Baptist Church Cemetery.
