Riley Buchanan

LIZELLA – Riley Buchanan, 81, passed away on Sunday, January 08, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday at Midway Baptist Church in Lizella. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Rev. Mike Fuller will officiate. The family will greet friends from 10:00 AM until service time Wednesday at the church.

Mr. Buchanan was born in Scottsville, Kentucky and was the son of the late R. O. Buchanan and Pernie Taylor Buchanan. He was retired from the United States Air Force, served during the Korean Conflict, and was a member of Midway Baptist Church.

Mr. Buchanan is survived by his wife, Lily (June) Edwards Buchanan of Lizella; sons, Reginald Buchanan of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and Russell (Debbie) Buchanan of Lizella; grandchildren, April Buchanan, Christine Hiland, Katie Elrod, Ryan Buchanan; great-grandchildren, Makenzie Adamo and Logan Elrod; sisters, Iris Cline of Scottsville, Kentucky and Nancibelle Shockley of Scottsville, Kentucky; several nieces and nephews.
