Dr. Robert Andrew Milner, age 90, peacefully passed away on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at a local care facility in the loving presence of his family. A Celebration of Life will be planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the donor's favorite charity.
Born on May 19, 1935, in Toccoa, Georgia, Robert was the son of Thomas Christian Milner and Jenna Sue McNeely. Robert graduated from Grady High School in Atlanta, Georgia, and attended Kent State University in Ohio. He earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, in 1957.
While studying in Iowa, he met his brown-eyed girl, Carolyn Jean Kinzel, and brought her to Georgia where they wed on May 23, 1957, in Macon, Georgia. Together they built a wonderful life and were soulmates for just shy of 69 years.
Robert built a successful Chiropractic practice, starting in Savannah and then returning to Macon, where he practiced for 22 more years before retiring in1986. The buying and renovating of rental properties became a second career for him. He and his wife donated 35 acres to The Rescue Mission for the development of their women's shelter.
Robert’s character was defined by his kindness, determination, fun-loving nature and devotion to family. He loved his cars and motorcycles and held a private pilot license. He worked hard, played hard and loved hard.
Robert was a member of The Macon Chamber of Commerce and the Kiwanis club, and was very involved with Big Brothers, where he was honored as Big Brother of the year.
Robert, with his wife Carolyn by his side, took full advantage of retirement and lived life to the fullest. He loved photography, playing golf, hiking and traveling. He especially loved Jamaica, where he enjoyed taking many family members. They spent summers at their Georgia mountain house and winters at their Florida home. They returned to Macon, Georgia, in 2016 to live near their daughter Kay, his son-in-law Roland, and their grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his sons, Tyson Andrew Milner and Douglas Robert Milner; his sister, Julia Milner Dewey; and his brother, Christian Thomas Milner.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Carolyn Jean Kinzel Milner; his daughter, Kay Milner Neel (Roland); grandchildren Roland “Hall’ Neel, Kaitlyn Neel, Andrew Milner, and Caroline Milner; great grandchildren Finnten Milner and Cassidy Sabio; his sister, Susan Milner Wardlaw; sister-in-law, Ward Turner Milner; and many nieces and nephews who will fondly remember him.
Robert touched the lives of so many, and he will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Robert’s family is eternally grateful for the love, support, and compassionate care provided by the staff at Pruitt Place- Wesleyan Memory Care, Pruitt Hospice, and his beloved caregiver, Maxine Smith.
Snow's Memorial Chapel, Bass Road, has charge of arrangements.
