
MACON- Rudy M. Jackson, 61, passed away at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 10:00AM, on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue with burial in Grace Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery on the Jackson Plot. The family will receive friends from Monday to 7:00PM to 9:00PM at funeral home. Mr. Jackson was the son of Wade Hampton and Juanita Rape Jackson, grandson of Crowell Cleveland and Mary Amanda Kneece Jackson and William Emmitt and Ruby Clifford Mason Rape, is now awaiting his resurrection at the call of Jehovah God‘s son, Jesus Christ. He died 3 days before the 42nd anniversary of his marriage to the former Sally LaJune Williams. Rudy was a 1968 graduate of Willingham High School. He was first employed by the Southern Bell Company. He began working for Georgia Power Company in February 1970, where he became a transmission lineman. In 1973, was a member of the first high voltage (500K Volt) line crew formed for this company. He also traveled extensively in the United States training similar crews for Southern Power Delivery Consultants (SPDC). He retired in 2006 after 36 years of service. Because his family always came first, the career decisions he made did not necessarily result in monetary advancement, but insured that he was able to spend valuable time with his loved ones. Rudy attended the Westgate Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses with his family for over 30 years.
Mr. Jackson is survived by his wife: Sally Jackson; father: Wade Hampton Jackson; children: Sallie Christine “Christi” Jackson, Ryan “Aric” (Shanna) Jackson, Amanda Michelle “Mandi” Jackson, Marnita Katlin “ Marni” (Wade) Eavenson, Patsy Jean “Endel” Kent; grandchildren: Marlee and Alexis Eavenson, Kristen Evans, Elizabeth and Angelica Conley; siblings: Sharon (Charles) Veal, Aurye (Sammy) McElhenney and Keith (Lisa) Jackson in addition to aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
