Sharon Stokes Mitchell

Sharon Stokes Mitchell, age 82, of Macon, Georgia passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2024. A Celebration of her Life will be held Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at 5:00 PM at Snow's Memorial Chapel, 1419 Bass Road, Macon, Georgia 31210, followed by a reception/visitation. Rev. Joe McDaniel will officiated. Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, www.diabetes.org .

Sharon was born in Macon the daughter of the late Gertrude Stokes and James "J.P" Stokes, was the widow of David Kerlin Mitchell and was preceded in death by her brothers, James "Jim" Stokes and Terry Stokes. She was a homemaker and helped out at Frames and Art. Sharon was a member of Forest Hills Church where she helped with the Pumpkin Patch and any other volunteer services needed. She loved having eggnog parties, making dressing, cooking, traveling, gardening and entertaining. Sharon also loved football, especially her beloved Georgia Bulldawgs. Nothing gave her more joy than traveling to watch Georgia play and tailgating with family and friends.

Sharon is survived by her daughter, Allison (Chris) Hefner of Macon; son, Clint (Christa) Ward of Macon; grandchildren, Dallas Ward, Lily Wakefield, Jarrett Ward, Stokes Ward, Finn Wakefield; and the father of her children, Thomas A. Ward; several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their gratitude to her caregivers - each of you were so special to her.
