

Virginia “Bruce” Swearingen Ward, 90, passed away Tuesday, November 7, 2017. A celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Main Gate. The Rev. Teresa Edwards will officiate. The family will meet friends from 10 a.m. to service time on Saturday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association, Central Georgia Chapter, 886 Mulberry Street, Macon, GA 31201.
Mrs. Ward, wife of the late Samuel Allen Ward, Sr., was born in Macon and was the daughter of the late Charlie and Donnie Ree Bruce. She was a member of Forest Hills United Methodist Church and was retired from the Federal Government Office of Personnel Management. Mrs. Ward was preceded in death by her oldest son, Samuel Allen Ward, Jr.
Survivors include those she loved most, her sons, Kenneth B. (Linda) Ward and Warren M. (Diane) Ward; her beloved grandchildren, Samuel Allen “Len” Ward, III, Alex Ward, Ian (Rachel) Ward, Stuart (Sara) Ward, Katie Ward, Jacob Ward; her great grandson, Simon Ward; her sisters, Ellen Massey and Frankie Del Guidice; nieces and nephews.
