

MACON – William “Bill” Newton Lober, 90, died Sunday, June 20, 2010 with his family by his side. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with full Masonic Rites being performed by the Middle Georgia Masonic Memorial Association. Rev. Redin Hodges, Rev. James Braswell and Pastor Paul Elder will officiate. The family will greet friends from 5 until 7 PM Tuesday at the funeral home and requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Masonic Home of Georgia, 1417 Nottingham Drive, Macon 31211.
Mr. Lober was born in Toledo, OH and was a retired mail carrier for the United States Postal Service. He was the widower of Mary Walker Lober. He was a United States Infantry Army veteran and was the son of the late William F. and Delpha Hoaglin Lober and was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Hooks, brother, Harley Lober, a granddaughter, Mary Delpha McCombs and a great-grandson, Logan Andrew Murphy. Mr. Lober was a member of the Free Methodist Church, was a 32nd Degree Mason, a member of the Scottish Rite Temple, the Middle Georgia Masonic Memorial Association, past President and past State President of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and past president of the Middle Georgia Credit Union Chapter. He was also a member of the Credit Union League Board, the Affilates Credit Union Board, National Director of the CUNA, former Treasurer of Wolihin Lodge #390, and past President of the Middle Georgia Coin Club.
Mr. Lober is survived by his sons, William F. (Rebecca) Lober of Macon and Tony Lober of Mammoth, CA; daughters, Mary (Tommie) Donaldson of Macon and Delpha (Ray) Horne of Woodberry, GA; 6 grandchildren, Debbie & Tripp Hodges of Lizella, Penny & Richard Murphy of Virginia , Chris Donaldson of Macon, Trae & Mary McCombs of Macon, Melanie Phillips of Warner Robins, Gary Lober, Forsyth & Stephen Lober of Macon; Great grandchildren, Allie & Emma Hodges of Lizella, Sophie and Sean Murphy of Virginia , Elise & Abbey McCombs of Macon & Eleni Phillips of Warner Robins; sisters, Virginia Sandlin, Betty Kohanski, Lorraine Farnham, Barbara Vykopal all of Toledo, OH; brother, Robert F. Lober of Toledo, OH.
