

Dorothy Irene Wilbur Wilkins passed away peacefully on November 11 at the age of 98. She had been a Madison resident for the past eight years. Dorothy was born November 21, 1912 in Binghamton, NY, the only child of Arthur James Wilbur and Fannie Jane Burdick Wilbur. She graduated from Binghamton Central High School in 1931 and was employed as the secretary for the Tabernacle Methodist Church in Binghamton for many years. On May 31, 1952 she married Lawrence Hanaway O’Connor Wilkins of Bradley Beach, NJ and relocated to New Jersey. Lawrence and Dorothy lived in Roselle, NJ from 1961 until Lawrence’s death in 2003. Dorothy will be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother, and faithful friend. She is survived by a daughter, Linda Wilkins Lee, and three grandchildren, Robert (Remy), James, and Nora Lee, all of Old Saybrook, CT.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 21 at 3:00 p.m. at the Swan Funeral Home, 825 Boston Post Road, Madison. Friends may call from 2:00-3:00. A private burial will take place the following day at Graceland Memorial Park in Kenilworth, NJ.
