Dr. Joe Price

Joe N. Price, D.D.S., formerly of Lanham, Md., Cape Coral and Fort Myers Fl., passed away peacefully on December 23, 2014 in Madison Ct.. Dr. Price was born on July 30, 1921 in Elkins West Virginia, and was predeceased by Lois, his devoted wife of 67 years. He served in the Army Medical Corps during World War II, and received his D.D.S. from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry in 1952. He was a past president of the Maryland State Dental Association, the Southern Maryland Dental Society, and Bladensburg Rotary Club. A fellow of the American College of Dentists, Dr. Price practiced dentistry in Landover Hills Md. for over 30 years, and was honored for his contributions to dental health and education by the Prince Georges County Health Department and Prince Georges County Teachers Association. He helped organize the first dental service at Prince Georges County Hospital, and served on advisory committees to both the State of Maryland and Florida, in addition to the Judicial Council of the American Dental Association. A founder of the Southern Maryland Dental Study Group, he and Lois treasured their life long friendships with this group of colleagues and spouses. Dr. Price is survived by his sons Gary (Madison, Ct.), Wayne (Ft. Lauderdale Fl.), and Eric (Naples, Fl), as well as grandchildren Lauren, Erica, Morgan, and Kyle. Services will be at the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell Fl. on 1/19/15. The family has requested that memorial donations be made to HASHaiti.org. Turner Funeral Home of Bushnell, Fl is in charge of arrangements.
