

Jack was born on December 1, 1934 in Kenosha Wisconsin the only child of J. Harold and Gladys Mae (Ruelle) Hansen
He attended Parks College at St. Louis University and went on to become a Marine aviator VMA-331 JUL56 -AUG59. Jack was stationed in Japan.
After serving in the US MARINES Jack had a long and distinguished career at United Airlines as a pilot retiring in 1994 as Captain . No man loved his job more. He met his wife Janet Maureen Goduti, a stewardess at United, in 1960. They were married January 13th 1962 in St. Ann’s Church, Wollaston MA.
He is survived by his adored wife Janet Maureen Hansen of Madison CT, his four treasured children, John H Hansen Jr. and his wife Heather of Newburyport MA; Peter J Hansen and his wife Tracy of Montclair VA; Frederick A Hansen and his companion Amy Hau of Manhattan NY; Elizabeth L (Hansen) Potts and her husband Ethan of Wellington FL. and his six cherished grandchildren, Nicholas and Isabella Hansen; Olivia and William Hansen, and Audrey and Ethan James Potts Jr.
Jack had a lifelong passion for reading. He shared his love of fishing and boating with all his children and became and a power squadron instructor. After retiring, Jack’s enjoyment of travel took him, his wife and a group of friends to destinations across the world including, Budapest, China, Egypt, Germany, Malta, Prague, Turkey, Russia and even France.
Jack was an active member of The Marine Corps Aviation Association (MCAA), The Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA) Retired United Pilots Association (RUPA) and the Madison Library Book Club.
Jack will be missed, by both family and friends and in particular the Cusa girls.
Family and friends may visit the Swan Funeral Home, 825 Boston Post Rd. Madison CT. Tuesday evening January 10, from 6 to 8. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 11am at St Margaret Church, with full military honors. Interment will be private on Thursday in Newburyport MA. In lieu of flowers Memorial contributions may be made to Connecticut Hospice 100 Double Beach Rd.
