Joseph was a respectable Comptroller and worked for Mastro Investments and JLA for 35 years. With his attention to detail, he built a doll house that was passed on to his first granddaughter, and then spent many years crafting an intricate world of model trains. Joe was a Maine enthusiast, spending special moments during his semi-retirement in quaint towns and artisan restaurants with Mary Jean.
Also known as Coach Hevesy, Joe was a decorated little league coach, celebrating several Red Sox championships in Madison Little League; as well as a revered youth football coach. One former player of his is quoted saying he was a “true legend and town fixture.” Joe was also an avid supporter of Daniel Hand High School athletics, watching his four sons play football, basketball, and baseball as Tigers. Joe then enjoyed watching his grandchildren engage in a variety of sports all across the U.S. including: football, basketball, baseball, hockey, soccer, softball, gymnastics, swimming & diving, and lacrosse.
Besides his wife Mary Jean, Joe is survived by his sister Cheryl and her husband Mike of Wallingford, CT; and his four loving sons: Christopher and his wife Carol of New Canaan, CT; John and his wife Kelli of Eatonton, GA; Scott and his wife Jennine of Los Angeles, CA; and Timothy and his wife Lisa of Scottsdale, AZ.
