

He was the loving husband for 66 years of Rose Abato Casanova. He was the son of the late James and Anna Casanova.
He served in the US Navy Pacific Theater during World War II, and graduated from the University of Connecticut after the war ended. He joined the family construction business and successfully built multiple homes, condominiums, and municipal buildings.
He lived an active lifestyle enjoying skiing, sailing, fishing, and golfing. He also loved the trout streams and ski mountains of Vermont and spent many wonderful days at his Vermont house. He and his wife made many enjoyable trips to Europe. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a brother Joseph Casanova of Branford, sisters Rose Nuremberg of Hamden, and Concetta Casanova of New Haven, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter Patricia.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday July 17th at 10am in St. Margaret Church, Academy St., Madison. Burial will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
