

The son of Edward and Anna (Johnson) Cerosky, was born in NYC and grew up in Portchester, NY. He was a veteran of WWII, serving as an ensign in the US Navy in the Pacific in 1945-46.
He was predeceased in death by two sisters, Doris and Shirley.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Joan Moray Cerosky and two sons, Keith of Ringwood, NJ and Gregg of Glastonbury, CT. He had one grandchild, Andrew of Naples, FL, brother Richard of Heuletts Landing, NY and sister Ruth White of Marlboro, VT.
Bob attended public school in Portchester, NY, graduating from Portchester High School in 1944. He was an Eagle Scout, attaining membership in the Order of the Arrow and a was member of DeMolay. Bob played football and baseball at Portchester High School.
After graduating with high honors from high school, Bob attended Brown University, where he joined the R.O.T.C. program (US Navy) and subsequently attained the rank of Ensign and, after a year at Brown, was stationed in the Pacific Theater during WWII. Bob served in the Navy for four years and, upon his return, took advantage of the GI Bill and completed his education at Trinity College in Hartford, CT, attaining a bachelor's degree in engineering.
Bob started his professional career at Havens & Emerson Engineering in NYC and left to pursue a 32-year career with General Foods Corporation. Bob's professional experience in environmental engineering offered him the opportunity to represent the New York Business Council at the New York Legislature and to represent the United States government in its initial negotiations with the government of China in the 1970s.
Upon Bob's retirement from General Foods in 1987, he and wife Joan moved to Madison, CT, where he began his second career volunteering his time to public service to the town of Madison. Bob was chairman of the Republican Party in the late 1980s, elected to the Board of Education for one term in the 1990s, and served as Chairman of the building committee for the town campus project, renovation of Memorial Hall, and the construction of the new police station at the town campus. Bob served as Chairman of the Police Commission for a number of years.
Bob was also a member of Madison Masonic Lodge 87, serving in a number of capacities, including Worshipful Master. Bob was also a member of the Madison American Legion Hall.
Bob was a devoted husband to Joan, respected father of Keith and Gregg, grandfather of Andrew and loving brother of Doris, Shirley, Richard and Ruth.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2pm at the First Congregational Church of Madison on Saturday, September 29th, a reception at the church hall will follow. Burial will be held privately at Summer Hill Cemetery in North Madison at a future date.
