

He was born on January 16, 1936, in Cohoes, NY, the son of James F. and Ann Lawlor.
Bob was the retired president of Atlantic Wire Co., in Branford, CT. He graduated from Christian Brothers Academy Military High School in Albany, NY in 1953, finishing second in his graduating class. He graduated from Manhattan College in 1957 with degrees in Electrical and Civil Engineering.
He began his work career at US Steel in Pittsburgh, PA., holding various supervisory and management positions. In 1972 Bob worked for Washburn Wire Co, Rumford, RI, becoming President & CEO of their two plants in Rhode Island and New York City. In 1980, Bob became President & CEO of Atlantic Wire Co, Branford, CT, an Etherington Industries Company. In 1985, he was promoted to President & CEO of Etherington Industries and became a partner of Atlantic Wire, retiring in 2000.
Bob was active with several charities and served on the board of Madison A Better Chance, Inc. He loved spending time with family & friends and enjoyed reading, playing the piano, poker, working out at the gym and following the Red Sox & Patriots.
In addition to his beloved wife Pat; he is survived by children Robert Lawlor, Jr., (Nancy) of Clemmons, NC, Patricia Brimicombe of Toronto, Elizabeth Boullianne (Brett) of Northborough, MA, Gregg Lafferty (Beth) of Bristol, CT and Brad Lafferty (Michelle) of Riverdale, NY; grandchildren Zoe, Nicole, Sean, Jake, Brady, Nicholas, Cullen and Jamie.
Calling Hours will be held on Friday November 21st from 9:30am-11:30am at Swan Funeral Home, 825 Boston Post Rd., Madison. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow on Friday at noon in St. Margaret Church, 24 Academy St., Madison.
