William J. Kennedy, 88, of Madison, CT, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2024. Born on July 6, 1936, in Jamaica, Queens, he was the son of the late William P. Kennedy and Vera (Logue) Kennedy. William grew up in Queens, NY and then went on to earn his Master’s degree in Accounting from Hofstra University. He worked as an accountant for the IRS for 28 years before retiring in 1998. He married the love of his life, his wife, Joan (D’Arienzo) Kennedy, in 1962. They spent 62 long, happy years together, raising their daughter and creating a home together.
He was member of the Knights of Columbus, enjoyed wood working, gardening, and cooking.
Other than his parents, William is predeceased by his brother Phillip Kennedy.
William will be greatly missed by his beloved wife, Joan, as well as his daughter Eileen Borowiec (Paul Borowiec) of Madison. He is also survived by his 4 grandchildren, Logan, Lia, Isabelle and Emilia Borowiec.
Services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in William’s name to Connecticut Hospice of Branford.
