

Wilma Elizabeth Maus, 80, beloved wife of Robert J. Maus of Madison, passed away Saturday September 23, 2017 at CT Hospice in Branford surrounded by her family after a long battle with cancer. Born in Arlington, MA on October 27, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Catherine Martin Cook. Wilma earned her B.A. in Education from the College of New Rochelle. She was a dedicated teacher at Academy Elementary School in Madison and devoted summers to the students at the Academy summer programs for many years.
Besides her husband Bob, of 57 years, she is survived by her three children; Catherine H. Hanson and her husband Thomas of Meriden, Arthur C. Maus of Wallingford and Laura M. Collins and her husband Patrick of Deep River; five grandchildren Kaila, Devin and Ethan Maus, Emily Collins and Christopher Dunn; daughter-in-law Kerriann Maus of Madison; sister-in-law Cici Cook of MA and her faithful golden retriever Misty. She was predeceased by her son Robert J Maus Jr. and brothers Robert and Arthur Cook Jr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday September 30, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Margaret Church 24 Academy St. Madison, CT 06443. Burial will follow at West Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to CT Hospice for the amazing care Wilma received during her stay. 100 Double Beach Rd. Branford, CT 06405.
