Chuck was proud to have served his country and always stressed the need to have an education to his children. He studied accounting at Hillsdale and after graduation he worked hard to become a successful salesperson and manager at Burroughs Corporation.
In 1983 Chuck started Procomp Computer Products, short for Professional Computers, out of the family house in Madison Heights, MI. He felt his first small success when he moved from one of the small bedrooms, to taking over just about the entire house! Procomp got so busy, the neighbors began to get just a little upset with the never ending UPS trucks coming and going all day long, every day. The success of Procomp grew quickly, moving from the home on Park Court in Madison Heights, to a “real office” in a strip mall in Madison Heights. From there a small building in Hazel Park, MI. Becoming restless and wanting to expand, Chuck moved to California and opened a small office above a bank in San Clemente.
At this time the company name changed to Sehi Procomp until, when Chuck felt his name could stand on its own merit, and was changed to Sehi Computer Products, Inc. The success of the California office followed that of Michigan, growing rapidly and needing more office space.
While back in MI, growth needed bigger office space and moved to Troy , then to Rochester Hills.
Sehi Computer Products, Inc. now own its own buildings in Rochester Hills, MI and San Clemente, CA.
His vision at the time was to have a company that would not just be part of his legacy, but that of his children’s as well.
Chuck was not only proud of the family members who helped the company grow, but also all the employees that came and went over the years. The employees of Sehi are just as much part of his family as where is own children.
It’s a testament to a man and his deep care for his employees, the first person hired outside of the immediate family in each office, are still with Sehi today. Chuck’s legacy will live on through the company he worked hard to build, but also through the many family members, friends and employees that he loved and cherished until the day he passed.
Chuck will be remembered as a loving husband, father, uncle, grandpa (PAPA), great grandpa, and friend (Mr Chuck)
In lieu of flowers, one of Chuck's favorite charities is Gleaners Community Food Bank.
