Douglas G. Evans, devoted husband, brother, father, uncle, Godfather, and grandfather passes away at his home on February 19, 2025, in Madison Heights, Michigan at the age of 72. His loss is deeply felt by his family. He was born in Detroit, Michigan, on October 20th, 1952, the son of the late Norman and Helen Evans.
On September 27th, 1974 Doug married the love of his life Mary Ann. They had together a once-in-a-lifetime love story for 50 years. They raised four children together, Debbie (Shane), Mike (Ann Marie), Pam (Scott), and David (Michelle). He instilled strong values in his children and took enormous joy in watching his children grow and achieve their goals. He was so proud to see the families they created and continued family traditions.
Doug joined various clubs in the community, Lions Club, Jaycees, Metro Wood Carvers, Friends of the Cardinals, and the Knights of Columbus. He created lifelong friendships within these organizations while enjoying his passion for helping others. Doug owned his own successful CPA business and recently retired to enjoy his cabin up north, fishing, golfing, and woodcarving by the fire.
Not only did Doug run a business, raise a family, and help his community, he was a motivational teacher and author. He worked with people helping them uncover and strengthen the power they already have to live the life of their dreams. Doug's mixture of humor and insight seemed to many the perfect combination to help accomplish their dreams.
His proudest accomplishment was his commitment to his family, He took immense gratification in being actively involved in the lives of his grandchildren. Madelyn, Alyssa, Amber, Cameron, Logan, Morgan, Mason, Bentley, Aubrey, and Maverick. Whether it was watching his love for hockey again through his grandsons, bundling up for soccer games, tapping his foot to a dance recital, or sitting in the football stadium he was a proud grandpa. Doug and his sister Kathy had a special bond and represented the essence of family. They had a deep-rooted relationship that shaped his whole family.
Doug was a source of wisdom, humor, and love. His unwavering love for his family will never be forgotten. He will remain in the hearts of all who loved him. His family will always love him the most!
