Dear Laurie and family, all our thoughts to you in this sad period. We have very good memories of your father. We had pleasure to meet him at the lake, discussing his time in Belgium, our country, and he knew we thank him for our freedom. It was also a pleasure to visit London together.

May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief.

What a nice, sweet man he was..... , someone who I will always remember as "christmas" loving/cherising and I'll always associate christmas with jake...

Our deepest condolences with the loss of Jacob. We had great conversations with him when he came to visit us here in Belgium, and also when we visited Laurie and Ivan in America a few years ago.

My mom was always so fond of Jake and loved you very much.  I grew up knowing he was a good man because I heard my mom say it every time after a visit with you.  I think she admired and appreciated him most for how well he treated you.  My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family, and though your loss is great, I hope you all may find comfort in knowing Jake is in the arms of our dear Lord and will forever live in the presence of God's eternal light. My condolences on your loss and everyone else's who had the priviledge of knowing him.  It was evident he loved his family and loved being with you at the cottage. I remember him greeting me with "Hello beautiful!"  and he always seemed interested in what I had to say and  made me feel welcome every time I came by...he was a very special person and for that I will always remember him with great fondness.
