John "George" McHugh

John "George" McHugh age 84 of Warren, MI, passed away August 15, 2012 in his home surrounded by his family. George was born June 24, 1928 in Scranton, PA. George served in the Marine Corps after high school and graduated from the University of Scranton. George moved to Michigan, where he worked at Chrysler for 30 years and found his beloved wife of 55 years, Loretta (Osterland). George was the loving dad of six children, Kevin (Laura) McHugh of GA, Sharon (Michael) Beaulieu of NH, Cathy (Rick) Treiber of IL, Brian (Inger) McHugh of NJ, Megan Deane of MI and Robin (Rob) Janke of Washington, D.C. George is survived by his 12 grandchildren, Michael, Daniel, Tony, Renee, Emily, A.J., Johan, Lukas, Gavin, Nathan, George and Otto. George is survived by his two sisters, Betty Antalics and Janet Bartley and his two brothers, Rev. Richard S.J and Thomas (Joan) McHugh and his sister in-law Jean (widowed of his brother Ned). George saw the best in life and had a wonderful gift of engaging others with his stories, laughter, and conversation.. Visitation Sunday August 19, 2012 from 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Edward Swanson & Son Funeral Home 30351 Dequindre Madison Heights, Michigan. Instate Monday August 20, 2012 from 8:30 a.m. until time of mass 9:00 a.m. St. Louise de Marillac Church 2500 12 Mile Rd. Warren, Michigan. Burial Great Lakes National Cemetery Holly, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Michigan.
