Marilou "Marie" Freda passed away on March 28, 2019 at the age of 81. She was the loving wife of the late Edmund Freda for 49 years. She was the beloved mother of Susan Kuhn and Christine (Larry) Parkkila. The cherished grandmother of Andrea (Adam) Klosowski and Stephen (Nina) Kuhn and great grandma of Aubrey, Addison, and Amelia. She was the dear sister-in-law of Donna (Don) Anderson and the Late Marlene (Ralph) Hamilton. She will be truly missed by her loving family and longtime best friend Erika LaFleur.
Marilou always enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and her dog Coco. In high school she was an avid swimmer, diver and loved to dance. Playing in pools with her sister-in-law’s, children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews was one of her favorite things to do. Ski trips with friends was something else she really enjoyed. Family trips were a big part of her life. Whether it was swimming, fishing, campfires or just hanging out, it brought her so much pleasure. We cannot leave out glitter, crafts, painting, slot machines, bowling and Mickey Mouse. These were her personal favorite things. Who else turns a bedroom into a wall to wall Mickey & Minnie collection? Marilou will always be remembered for her fun-loving personality and will live in our hearts forever.
A Memorial Gathering will take place on April 12, 2019 from 2:00pm until 8:00pm at Edward Swanson & Son Funeral Home, 30351 Dequindre Road in Madison Heights. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at 11:00am at the funeral home. Friends may visit on Saturday from 10:00am until the time of the funeral at 11:00am.
