Rose will be missed by all who skated. My condolences to all her family.

Our families were neighbors for a short time. She taught my daughter Michele when she was eight, we skated in most all of the shows, Michele with her dad once; I also sewed costumes for the shows. My dad said that he remembered her when she was a small kid running around the Arena Gardens Roller rink. He skated in there in twenties. All the skaters that have passed before Rose will now have a wonderful instructor. May God bless Rose and her family.

I am so sorry for Roses' family having to lose someone so dear .

I am a skater and I met Rose several years ago .  She is such a special person. One Halloween at Skate World of Troy Someone took a picture of she and I together .  I am so glad to have that to look at and remember

Aunt Rose will be tearfully missed and she will be remembered with love.  Our children and grandchildren so enjoyed the birthday cards from Aunt Rose every year growing up, and she didn't forget the adults, we all received our cards each year like clockwork.
In the early years (30's & 4o's) she was like an older cousin not an aunt.  When she watched us I remember her to be very patient.  
Later she became the family historian and matriarch keeping the Martin/Avedano clan connected.  she did all that while continuing her roller skating career.

Rose was a person who truly loved skating and in my view, the best skating instructor.  She was a very wise, caring and considerate person.  She had the innate ability to bring out the best in all her skaters.  I will always treasure her friendship and the skating lessons she provided to me.  It was great having her be a part of my life.  I will miss her.

Rose will forever be remembered in our Sunday prayers for the deceased.  May God bless the Martin Family and give them the strength to carry on during this darkest hour.

My condolences to Rose's family. I knew them all. I didn't take lessons from Rose, but my dad, John Moon did. our whole family loved Rose, she was a great lady and teacher of roller skating. We enjoyed her at Motor City and Skate world. The world has lost a great lady.

The entire skating community should take a moment to reflect on the wonderful examples of leadership we have had blaze the path for OUR sport.....Thanks Rose !

This is sadly the end of an era.  The Martin's were icons in the roller skating world and will never be replicated.  Starting with Grandpa Fred Martin, my parents - Marjorie (Martin) and Dick McLauchlen, then Aunt Rose - all are now resting in Heaven together again. I pray the family is strengthened in knowing what a special woman their mother, grandmother and great-grandmother was to everyone around her. Thank you for never forgetting my birthday.

What a wonderful lady. Until recently, Rose would skate a few rounds, (with a little assistance), at Skate World of Troy, with a huge smile on her face.I will always remember she  told me I skated like her partner Jimmy Carroll.  The skating world has lost a true legend.

my sister and I, were  in a lot of showst motor city skateig club, she work hard at everything  she did.  my sister bevely was good fridns with one of he girls.  she will be miss a lot, a great person the skateing world has lost.  may god  be with her and  the fmily.

at Arena Gardens in Detroit. I adored her. I remember her neice Midgey, we all
thought she was so cute.  Good times and good memories of Rose Martin.  May God rest her soul.

Thanks Rose for all you gave me ...... you made me a better skater and I will alway remember you and the wonderful Arena Gardens. It was one of the most important parts of my life and still is !! You are always part of my memories.

So sorry to here of the Loss of such a Great Lady in the field of skating . Rose will so sadly missed.

Aunt Rose was such a sweet spirit. She always remembered our birthdays 
and special holidays. My children grew up looking for "Aunt Rose's envelopes", they got so excited when they got one. She was very special to me. Enjoy heaven Aunt Rose I know Mom has been waiting for you.

Aunt Rose meant the world to me. My home is filled with old family pictures much due to her. Not only the physical photos,  but they come with history and stories and identifications to which I would have known on my own. She remembered my childrens birthdays...never missed them, great great nieces and nephews to her. How she remembered everyone is still a mystery to me. Right to my last visit with her last weekend we talked old times, skating,  memories and people she loved and will miss. She will be greatly missed and I love her dearly. Sherry Marion (Gerych)

My Great Aunt Rose was a smart, witty, organized, nurturing, giving, thoughtful, loving force to be reckoned with. We had some amazing conversations & I learned so much. Aunt Rose was the "glue", that reunions are made of.  Such a planner.  I will cherish every memory and hold you close in my heart forever!  I'll be seeing you often. I love you xoxoxo

To our family,

I am sad at the loss of this amazing and very loved lady, all who knew her were blessed. She always made everyone she came into contact with feel special and loved. I always bragged about My Grandma and Aunt Rose and all the Roller skating stories, I am so proud. I will treasure having her in our lives and look forward to seeing her again in the future skating around on the clouds, she can finally teach me some more moves like when we were children at Skate World. I will treasure our last visit a few months ago with My Dad , she was happy and seemed well. I'm sad but happy she didn't suffer to long. Hugs and prayers to the family.
I'm sure she will be looking down at us over the next few days and enjoy seeing all of us, she never missed a chance to see us all together and this I feel will be no different, I Love you Aunt Rose.

Rose was such a gracious, classy and well respected lady. She was such a gifted person. She accomplished so much in the skating world. Your skating shows at Motor City were awesome. You will be greatly missed Rose. May you rest in peace w/ God's Blessings!
