  We are Steven and Matthew's next door neighbors to the north of them! I and my wife Janet enjoyed finally having a neighbor (our age) to talk to.  I remember when the family moved in and I offered Steven some home grown tomatoes. He said oh yes I'm Italian I will never turn those down!
  We talked about not being happy with the  Tall White Privacy Fence. And how on our side it turns green with mold and needs to be washed!! I can picture him just smiling and shaking his head!

I will always remember our Sunday visits to Grandma and Grandpa Bertolini's.  Steve along with the rest of our cousins made many happy memories there.  
Unfortunately I did not see Steve much in our adult lives, but he was always in my heart and always will be.
Rest in peace in the company of all of our family. gone and missed before you, who loved you so much.
Know that those of us who remain will carry you in our hearts always.

Our heartfelt condolences on Steve's passing.  Steve was such a great guy and we always enjoyed seeing him whenever we were back in Michigan visiting Cheryl and Mike.  

Steve will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved him, including us.  We are thinking of you and wish you comfort and peace as you remember Steve.

Steve was my uncle. I will treasure the lifetime of memories of traveling up north, holiday get togethers, Rose bowl parties, etc. I used to go to his house on Waverly all the time growing up. As an only child, it was amazing; there would always be family there, food, trouble to get in to. I loved it and it always seemed like he and Donna loved having us there. What always stood out to me was how he and my aunt were true partners, a pair. He was a great example for me when I was a kid and as I got older and started a family of my own. Rest in peace, uncle Steve, I love you and will miss you.

I only met Steve a couple times as I am friends with his son Vinnie.  He had such spunk and spoke his mind and his opinions freely.  I know Vinnie and he is such a great man with such a great soul so I know that his parents Donna and Steve were great people to raise a son with such a caring heart. I can tell Vinnie anything and there is never judgment just friendship. He has been there for me through alot in my life. We may not speak everyday, but when we do it is like I saw him just yesterday. Steve has been sick for a while and Vinnie took such good care of him. Always there for him. So I just want to say that because i know Vinnie and his heart, I feel like I knew Steve. To Steves family my heart and prayers are with you. And to my good bud Vinnie, be strong friend. Your Dad is with his love, your Mom and now you have 2 angels looking upon you. Keep your head up and take peace knowing your Dad is free from pain and with his love. Big hugs friend. 

The one memory we actually recalled many times was rock homerun derby on the beach in front of aunt Elena’s cottage in Cheboygan. We’d find a sturdy branch a bunch of rocks and pitch to each other to see who could hit farthest into the lake. Hit each other a few times also. A great brother, a great friend and an all around great person. My heart aches. I love you and look forward to seeing you again. 

Steve loved his family so much and he was loved by all. I will miss bowling with him and just being with him. The world will not be the same without Steve❤️❤️

All About Steve. 
Most all my memories include Steve. There is one that sticks out, when we were 9 or 10 Steve, Sherry, Matt and myself had singing contests in our bedroom late at night. Steve made us all sing the same song  "MOON RIVER" we did, and he usually won. Steve and I  did so many things together to many to mention and yes we got in trouble (a lot) but stuck together and I love him. I wouldn't change any memory  I have for anything in the world! I love him and will forever.  Steve please tell Tom I miss him.
 I LOVE YOU BOTH!  

I don't even know how to begin writing this.

As a child going over to Steve and Donna's was something we did often. I remember one time there was a tornado warning, the sky was angry and purple, and my dad said "put your shoes on, we are going to Steve and Donna's." When I asked why he simply said "they have a basement." I remember Steve saying something along the lines of "are you crazy, you drove through this?" He opened the door, put on a pot of coffee,  and three of them did what they did best, talk (for hours). Steve was a great uncle and a great human, I will miss him so much.

I will miss Steve every day.
God gave us an incredible gift when he gave Steve to this world.  There are so many moments and experiences shared with Steve, and I will recall and treasure each one.  I am grateful for all the memories we made, but sad now that we won’t make any new ones. 

Steve is and always will be an important person in my life and an important part of our family. I am honored to call him my brother. 

I do not believe he has left us. He will continue to accompany us in everything we do.  We will  just occupy different rooms in the universe. 
I love you Steve. 

Dad you were my hero. I have never in my life nor will I meet a tougher man than you. You have been sick since your mid 20s. Many others would have given up long ago. You lived your life with a smile on your face even though you were time after time met with Severe health issues. Part of me died with you. I stopped and thought wow both of my parents gone before I’m 35 that’s bad luck, but when I thought about the quality of individuals I had as parents I knew I was wrong. I was the luckiest son around. I will miss you forever Dad. Take care of Mom! Love you, Vinnie.

I remember when Steve and Donna started dating, fell in love and got married. Steve has always been so easy going, fun and In General an all around great guy.  He will be missed. I know since his illness he had fought a long hard battle. He is back with Donna. May they rest in peace.

Sometimes bad things happen to people you love. It's hard to know what to say to help , but just a note to let you know we care.  Wishing you and your Family Strength and Peace.

I have too many memories with my brother to share. This I will say, There is a hole in my heart that will only be filled on the day we are reunited. Until then, I will miss him every day.

Matt, Vinny, Mike, Kathy, Sherry and Matt. We have just experienced another devastating blow to the family. When I think of the times we had together from our days in Port Austin, Indianapolis 500 holiday weekend parties to our weddings and births of our children;As well as the medical issues we faced with our wifes’ I have nothing but pride and admiration for the way Steve handled life. Although Steve had many health issues of his own to deal with through life he always endured and faced his issues head-on. He thrived on being the family historian and had a story for every person, place and event. We will all miss him dearly. Until the day that we are all together again may he rest in peace. 

I cannot think about my cousin Stevie without thinking about visiting their house in Madison Heights when we were really little. Mom and Aunt Betty would be in the kitchen talking and we kids were in the basement playing. Steve would always tell us he was going to put us in the washing machine.  The one time he caught me he picked me up and started to put my feet near the machine but hugged me instead. He smiled and told me he’d get me next time. My love to the family and my cousins Mike, Kathy, Sherry and Matt.
